The brief story about the Liver Cleansing Diet:

The liver is a very busy and hardworking organ. It:

  1. Regulates carbohydrate levels in the blood.
  2. Acts as a store for carbohydrates, vitamins and mineral.
  3. Regulates protein metabolism.
  4. Detoxifies many toxic substances.
  5. Act as a filter to remove dead and cancerous cells, microbes, fat globules and blood sludge.

If these detoxification pathways become overloaded there is increased stress on the immune system and there may be symptoms of immune dysfunction such as allergies, inflammatory conditions, swollen glands, recurrent infections, chronic fatigue or auto-immune diseases.

Key principles of the Liver Cleansing Diet to improve your liver function:

  1. Listen to your body - eat when you are hungry
  2. Drink at least 8 - 12 glasses of filtered water daily
  3. Avoid eating refined sugar and artificial sweeteners -use stevia or honey as sweeteners. For a sweet treat See Banana fruit smoothie
  4. Don't become obsessed with measuring calories.
  5. Avoid foods that you may allergic to.
